Avec le temps
Where does the time go? I can't believe that it's June and my last post was in February! I have to confess and admit that things are harder than I thought they would be - but don't get me wrong I truly feel that I am at the best time in my life right now. Maksim is such a blessing. He's already 4 months old!

Etre Retarde
So, I'm still living in chaos. The baby is due next Friday and we've just finished renovating the bathroom so we can finally move into the house. The problem is also my lack of access to a computer. I really hope that I will organize my life sooner rather than later - but I also couldn't be more happier!

Maison
I've been sooo busy recently! With preparing for the baby and now we bought a new house too!
I hope to post more often once I'm settled with the new baby and house. Of course, everyone says it gets busier from now on - but I will also have all of my things together in one house so I'm assuming I will be more organized. I guess we'll see!
Have a happy holiday and I will return in the New Year!

Champignon
I was browsing some blogs and was inspired by Clever Nettle's mushroom excursion (www.clevernettle.com/blog/). I recently went camping in Killbear Provincial Park and during one of my hikes saw a variety of mushrooms that I took pictures of.
Mushrooms seem so ethereal - I guess because of their association with fairies. They also seem to stand out as gems on the forest floor.

Pour Moi Aussi
I haven't forgotten about the cute maternity clothes now available. I really could put this poncho on right now!
It's the "Game Point Poncho" available from Anthropologie. On such a beautiful and crisp Friday autumn evening, it's perfect for a nice walk to the local coffee shop and back to a nice bath, a good book or a Jane Austen movie and some cross-stitch!

Mon Petit Chou!
As I'm slowly finding out - there are so many cute things for babies nowadays! Like this baby sling from Amy Butler fabric.
I have so many things I'd like to sew, knit, embroider before baby gets here! I just realized that I said that in my previous post. I'm really excited about getting everything ready, but of course I know that it doesn't really work out that way.

Mon Chat
I made my beloved Bobby a dapper bowtie since I think that it goes smashing with his already existing tuxedo! What do you think? I'm not sure if he likes it or not!

beti
In the late sixties, my mom went to a very renowned sewing school in Slovenia. It is still in existence and they are very famous for their underwear. It is called 'beti' and I love my mom's old notebooks.
They made everything by hand and to scale but in miniature size.

Needless to say, when I was a little girl I loved these pieces too. They were a great fit for my dolls! Which is unfortunate because some of the pieces are missing from her notebook! Sorry mom!

Voyage en Algonquin
What a great week! We went on a nice relaxing/scenic/romantic getaway. On our way up north we stopped by the Cookstown Antique Market. They had a great collection of embroideries, needlepoints and heirloom type pieces.
I would definitely go back - we spent a lot of money there, so maybe not too soon!
Once we got to Algonquin Park we stayed at Bartlett Lodge. Soo cute! Individual cabins with a fireplace.
I wish we could have stayed longer. The weather was very crisp but it was refreshing. The wild flowers were in bloom and trillium were everywhere.
They served a five course dinner every night! Here is the Amuse Bouche from our second night - "Eggs and Ham" which is really honeydew melon and cantaloupe on ham!

Toile D'Araignee
It's been raining this week and I keep thinking about the waterspout song and that spider! I finished a stitched spiderweb. Toile and stitch seem such appropriate words for the web!
I was practicing my straight stitch and I think the spider might look too much like an ant! I'm not sure what this will become.

Panier Perce
I saw this on the site Industreal.it - this bowl is sold together with the embroidery kit of your choice. The kit contains coloured skeins, a needle, a needle threader and instructions for a decoration! How cute is that! Too cool!

Geraniums!
So I did go out and buy some flowers. I always get Ivy Geraniums for my deck and put them in the hanging baskets on the edge of the balcony. I'll have to get a picture - it's hard to explain!
I love the way they keep blooming and blooming. There is also a very alpine feel to them which suits my 'alpine' background. In Austria and Slovenia it seems as if everyone has them in a window box or hanging from their balcony. I will get some more flowers, but I thought I'd start off with these since I get them every year.
